Humbug High is a modern retelling of Charles Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol. Set in a high school, the story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly teenager, who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve and learns the true meaning of the holiday.
The Story
Ebenezer Scrooge is a selfish and greedy teenager. He cares only about money and has no time for the people around him. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge that he is on the path to a lonely and miserable life. Scrooge is skeptical, but when he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he begins to see the error of his ways.
The Ghost of Christmas Past shows Scrooge his childhood and how he used to be a kind and caring boy. The Ghost of Christmas Present shows him the happiness and joy that can be found in the holiday season. The Ghost of Christmas Future shows him the loneliness and despair that awaits him if he does not change his ways.
Scrooge is deeply moved by the visits from the three spirits. He realizes that he has been living a selfish and greedy life and that he needs to change. On Christmas morning, he wakes up a new man. He is kind and generous and spends the rest of his life making amends for his past.
